Actor Terrence Howard to be inducted into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity
Academy Award nominated actor, Terrence Howard will be bestowed Honorary Membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia.
Terrence Dashon Howard had his first major role in the 1995 film Mr. Holland's Opus, subsequently led to a number of roles in films and television. Among his roles in movies includes The Best Man, Ray, Lackawanna Blues, Crash, Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin', Idlewild, The Brave One, and Pride, of which he also produced. He received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in his role as "Djay" in the film Hustle & Flow.
Howard first entered the entertainment world when he portrayed Jackie Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream, an ABC miniseries. He also co-starred as "Greg Sparks" in the late-1990s television series Sparks.
In 2008, he made his Broadway debut, playing Brick in an all-African American production of Tennessee William's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
